The aim of this article was to review the relationship between type 2 diabetes and obesity. The most important environmental risk factors in most patients who develop type 2 diabetes were high caloric intake, decreased physical activity, family history and stronger multiple genetic predisposition. Obesity induces insulin resistance and its mechanism is poorly understood. Inflammation may be the common mediator linking obesity to the pathogenesis of diabetes.Downloads
