Background: Ovarian teratoma are the commonest germ cell tumours of the ovary commonly seen in the young but can occasionally be encountered in the elderly with an increased risk of malignant transformation.
Method: This was an 8-year retrospective review of128 histologically confirmed cases of ovarian teratoma in the university of Port Harcourt teaching hospital and Braithwaite memorial specialist hospital both tertiary health facilities in Port Harcourt from 1st January 2009
