Memecylon talbotianum Brandis, is an important ethnomedicinal plant. The leaves of this plant was extracted with different solvents and evaluated for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory in methanol, ethyl acetate, hexane and water extracts. Methanol extract exhibited with greater reactive oxygen species scavenging capacity by antioxidant assays, DPPH (IC 50 ; 4.25 mg / ml), ABTS (IC 50 ; 1.28 mg/ ml), SRSA (IC 50 ; 3.33 mg / ml) and reducing power (IC 50 ; 5 mg / ml) carried out. Its capacity to inhibit 15-lipoxygenase (IC 50 ; 1 mg / ml) and xanthine oxidase (IC 50 ; 12.65 mg / ml), inflammatory mediators is reported.Downloads
