The plethora subscribed in this research is directed towards the synthesis of 1, 3, 4-aryl oxadiazole derivatives. The acid hydrazide of Mefenamic acid and Diclofenac undergoes Schiffs reaction with substituted aromatic aldehyde to offer aryl hydrazones which upon treatment with an aromatic acid and phosphorous oxychloride offers corresponding substituted 1, 3, 4-ary-oxadiazole derivatives. The structures of the synthesized compounds were established by IR, 1H-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were screened for their anti bacterial and anti-fungal activities.Downloads
