Prevalence of rheumatoid factors in Malagasy blood donors

Introduction: Rheumatoid factors are autoantibodies targeted against the Fc portion of IgG. These autoantibodies are found in various autoimmune diseases, particularly in rheumatoid arthritis; in multiple bacterial and viral infectious diseases; and also in healthy subject. In the range of investigations on autoimmune diseases in Madagascar, the current study evaluated the prevalence of rheumatoid factors in healthy Malagasy blood donors in 2016.
