A study was done to assess Echocardiography of asymptomatic hypertensive patients. The present study is intended to identify subclinical abnormalities in LV function, LA dimension and Aortic root dimension among hypertensive subjects by using two dimensional (2D) standard echocardiography techniques .Apart from left ventricular mass, the corresponding geometry provides additional prognostic information about patients in hypertension. This finding is an agreement with several previous studies. The present study identified three types of left ventricular geometry in the hypertensive patients. 1) Normal geometry, characterized by normal left ventricular mass index and normal relative wall thickness 2) Concentric hypertrophy, characterized by increased left ventricular mass index and increased relative wall thickness and 3) Concentric remodeling, where the LV mass index is normal and the relative wall thickness is increased.Downloads
