Phylogenetically hepatitis B virus (HBV) has been classified into eight major genotypes. The dominant genotype in New Delhi is genotype D. HBV genotype D and A have been well documented from different parts of India. In this study, the sequences of HBV isolates from 12 asymptomatic blood donors were amplified; the resulting amplicons were sequenced. Analysis showed that 6 isolates belonged to HBV genotype D1, 3 belonged to D3 and rest 3 belonged to A1.Downloads
